No band believes in the powers of the devil’s lettuce quite like Dopelord. Since budding out of Poland in 2010, the stoner doomers have led children of the haze down the left-hand path. Now, ahead of their European tour with Monolord, the band are dusting off the first entry in their wickedly catchy spell book.
Today, Dopelord are excited to announce that their new label home Season Of Mist is reissuing their 2012 debut album, »Magick Rites«. Now back in print, with this reissue, fuzz worshipers everywhere can once again experience their first communion with the devilish masters of stoner doom.
“For most of us, »Magick Rites« was our first-ever recording session in a proper studio,” Dopelord bassist and vocalist Piotr Zin remembers. “The studio was located in Bialystok and belonged to some friends of ours, whose band we had previously played gigs with. We recorded these songs mainly for ourselves. We had no expectations whatsoever regarding how they would be received. Well, maybe with one exception – having a CD would make it easier for us to get gigs. But everything that happened afterwards was completely unplanned.”

Season Of Mist will reissue »Magick Rites« on December 11, 2026. Pre-order HERE.
Available formats:
• CD Jewel Case
• 12” Vinyl (Black)
• 12” Vinyl (Glow In The Dark)
Tracklist:
01. The Pentagram
02. Ghost Cargo From The Bong
03. Lucifer’s Son
04. Possessed
05. Magick Holocaust
06. Rise! Undying!
»Magick Rites« is blessed with all the raw ingredients that make Dopelord so charming. From the opening rip, the album rises from the ashes like a cloud of smoke. Ungodly heavy riffs bring the masses to their knees in service of »Lucifer’s Son«. More than a decade later, the band’s devout following hasn’t stopped chanting its seductive chorus as a sign of their undying allegiance. “I gave you my soul.”
“[…] the off-the-bat highlight of »Magick Rites«,” The Sleeping Shaman wrote in praise of »Lucifer’s Son«. “[…] it nonetheless explores Miodek’s prayer to the gods of another universe as if blasted from some giant volcano-mouthed horn directly into the cosmos.”
On »Magick Rites«, Dopelord introduced their wickedly catchy twist on stoner doom.

Their music is characterized by a heavy, psychedelic sound with clear stoner metal influences and lyrics that often refer to occultism, drugs and dark fantasy.
The band has gained international recognition for their energetic live shows, catchy riffs and haunting choruses. The band regularly tours in Poland and abroad. They’ve performed at many prestigious festivals, including Desertfest (London, Berlin and Antwerp), MetalDays, Rockstadt Extreme, Brutal Assault, SWR Barroselas Metalfest, Tolminator, Helldorado Eindhoven and Mystic Festival. In 2019, they toured with doom legends Saint Vitus.
Dopelord are busy crafting full-length album number 6(66). When they’re not lighting up the studio, the band are out rolling the road with their hazy magick ritual. In 2025, they’re celebrating their 15th anniversary with a return to London’s Desertfest and five shows across their native Poland. At the end of the year, they’ll join legendary tokers Orange Goblin for the English heavies final show in Finland.
