Orum is an instrumental trio based in Lisbon, Portugal. The name is derived from the portuguese word “muro” which means wall. Their sound is characterized by an alternation between slow abrasive moments, and a focus on creating atmospheric and emotional build-ups. The lengthy run times encompass the use of both repetitive and progressive elements. Through refraining from word use in their composition process, Orum seeks to submit both themselves and the listener to detachment from the need to extract objective meaning, and to instead embrace contemplation of the sonic experience.
