Lisbon’s Elderstag have released a fresh video for »The Grand Transformation«, one of the highlights from their self-titled debut album.

Elderstag’s self-titled debut dropped on January 13, 2025, and if you’ve been waiting for a fresh band that gets both the weight and weirdness right, this one’s worth your time.

Across its shifting moods, from quiet introspection to full-force intensity, the self-titled LP tells the story of a dystopian world where someone, somehow, manages to turn every last human into an animal. It’s part concept album, part sonic shapeshifter, each track digging into a different chapter of that unsettling, fictional universe, highlighting key characters and the chaos that follows.

Built on solid experience from Portugal’s metal underground (featuring members of The Chapter, Diabolical Mental State, Fonte, Voidust and more), Elderstag sound like a band that knows what they want to say and how to make it hit.

If you’re into albums that carry both weight and weirdness, with no fear of throwing curveballs, this one’s worth the dive.
