Portuguese death/doom metal duo Oak with members of Gaerea premiere their sophomore full-length album, »Disintegrate«, which was released worldwide this Friday, February 10th, 2023 via Season Of Mist.

The story to »Disintegrate« is as aptly as it’s music. The burden and liberation of the Giant, through music and lyrics. “Suddenly, a giant could be heard walking slowly with the weight of the world on his back.” This new narrative is about the liberation of the giant, which after the end of its cycle, will melt under the sun, while its soul leaves its body and floats, glimpsing the present and remembering the past in a few moments.

Oak comments: “You had already explored the two craters left by the Giant’s feet with the excerpts from Disintegrate that we revealed earlier. Now, you stand before him and you will be crushed by tons of his flesh that will fall on you and soon become dust. The time has finally come.”

Upon the birth of their first full-length album »Lone« in 2019, atmospheric death doom duo Oak emerged from Portugal with a slow and steady force, like roots breaking concrete.

After four years of slumber, the band has awakened like the old gods, ready to release utter devastation onto the masses with sophomore effort »Disintegrate«.

For nearly 45 unforgiving minutes, this mournful maelstrom drags the listener asunder, while tormented growls and agonizing riffs echo deep despair within the atmospheric abyss.
