Red Eye Temple is a Vienna-based progressive metal band formed in 2020 by the sibling trio Maria Nesh (vocals), Mat Plekhanov (guitar), and Sam Plekhanov (bass). Their music draws heavily on 1980s and later progressive rock and metal influences, combining melodic female vocals, technically fluent guitar work, and rich production to craft an emotionally engaging yet complex sound.

Their debut album »Vortex« (released March 2021) received strong independent reviews – praised for its clear production quality, blend of accessible hooks and progressive intricacy, and its “mystical yet thoroughly enjoyable” feel. Lyrically, the band explores psychological and philosophical themes, and musically they often evoke technical finesse while retaining a melodic focus. Red Eye Temple offers a polished, modern take on progressive metal – rooted in sibling chemistry, Eastern European background, and a Vienna base – balancing depth and accessibility.
