And it came to pass that man rose above the beasts of the earth, for he was endowed with a mind great and terrible. Yet this gift became his curse, for the eyes of man were opened, and he beheld the abyss, and knew the vanity of existence, and a great dread of eternity seized him.

And lest the sons of men should perish from fear before the face of the cosmos, they built four pillars of illusion to shield their souls:

And they turned their gaze away from the void, hiding their dark thoughts behind walls of silence. And they fashioned unto themselves idols, clinging to laws, faiths, and the customs of their fathers to steady their feet upon a stronghold.

And they gave themselves unto great vanity, deafening their minds with the clamor of deeds, games, and daily distractions, lest they hear the silence.

And a few turned their grief into songs and symbols, clothing the horror of being in earthly beauty. Yet the day shall come, and the Last Messiah will appear in the world. He shall bring no salvation, nor shall he build a kingdom. But he shall lift up his voice and cry out:

“Know yourselves – be infertile and let the earth be silent after ye.”

Debut recording of a project by members of the bands Hexendrone, Kalandar, Tafna etc. Blackened death doom steeped in radical pessimism.
