Ispolin is an emerging gothic/doom metal band from Chelyabinsk, Russia. The band was formed in 2025 and is deeply rooted within the local underground metal scene.

The band’s name, Ispolin (Исполин), translates to “giant” or “titan” in Old Church Slavonic and Russian. This name reflects the heavy, slow, and monumental sonic aesthetic characteristic of the gothic and doom metal genres.

Ispolin’s debut full-length album »Soul Snatcher Possession«, released independently in June 2026, consists of 8 tracks spanning roughly 39 minutes of music. True to their genre, the album features a blend of heavy, slow-tempo doom metal paired with dark gothic atmospherics. The lyrical themes pull from science fiction (specifically Frank Herbert’s »Dune« universe), horror folklore, and dark occult imagery.
