Underdose is a sludge metal band based in Bratislava, Slovakia. Over the time and multiple line-up changes, their style has evolved from angsty, hairy stoner grunge-o-rama through post-metal experimentation, culminating in an eclectic amalgamation of doomy guitar pensiveness, moody metallic hardcore aggression, with a twist of John Carpenter-esque electronica.

Their latest record, »Tilt«, released on December 26, 2024, sees them in the most mature light so far, featuring synths and electronic elements for the first time in their career. Employing heavier, darker sound while exploring bleak lyrical themes of human mortality, physical and emotional frailty, alienation and perseverance, the music of Underdose has defined itself in introspective, joyless honesty.

Underdose about »Tilt«: “Have you ever felt like you’ve been doing something for so long that the journey becomes your destination and when you eventually come to an end, you fell a tad… Empty?
To this little labor of love, we’ve dedicated as much time as you would need to instill basic social habits in a newborn.

So be critical, yet lenient to this child. They’ve been through some tough stuff in their short life, from trying to find oneself, through contemplation of their mortality and of their failures, to experiencing separation and the horrors of war.

With almost fatherly pride, we acknowledge each scar on their face. We hope you will appreciate this honesty.
