»Figura« tries to redefine the band’s entity as a living form that does not merely exist as a rigorous, closed whole. The amoebic figure changes, adapts and develops over time. It represents an attempt to unite individuals coming from different musical practices, thereby expanding the band’s existing sound spectrum and opening up new expressive potentials. »Figura« strives to enable and encourage the development of longer-term creative contact between participating musicians.

The basic aesthetic point of departure was to combine various musical traditions, from classical music, the avant-garde of the 20th century and free jazz to noise and other niche musical genres, with an extreme guitar band into a bulky, but also unexpectedly subtle sound mass that exists on the extreme periphery (after) known. The framework of the compositions was assembled by the members of The Canyon Observer, but the new members were involved in the creative process throughout – from the conceptual design of the project to the actual arrangement process. The chimerical musical creature born from this process is formed by the organisms of the musicians involved, who leave individual traces on the album.

»Figura« is a reflection of man and his physical body, composed of various building blocks and organs, which in themselves do not function outside of their host. Through the prism of anatomy, he tries to highlight the necessity of connection and cooperation, which can also be applied in the field of modern social organization. In a time of disintegration of solidarity and broken social relations, »Figura« discovers love and beauty by weaving unsuspected musical ties and establishing unexpected aesthetic connections.
