가시늪 (Gasiknop) is an avant-grade/sludge/doom metal band from deep South Korea.

The band’s name roughly translates to “Thorn Swamp” or “Thorn Marsh”, which perfectly mirrors their oppressive, dark soundscapes. Primarily anchoring their sound in atmospheric doom metal, sludge, and drone, with Southern gothic vibe, they are an exceptionally niche, DIY outfit within the broader South Korean rock and metal scene. Rather than finding success in the mainstream domestic K-pop or indie rock markets, 가시늪 (Gasiknop) caters to global heavy music enthusiasts.
