Barcelona, Spain based psychedelic doom rockers Meltem have released the first single »Tretze« taken from their upcoming debut album, »Mare Nostrum«, due out on June 28, 2024 via Quebranta Records and Discos Macarras Records.

Menorca 1558 (Year of the Misfortune), the corsairs of the Ottoman Empire arrive by the thousands on the shores of Ciutadella. Only 800 Menorcan soldiers will face such a catastrophe, behind the walls. The clamor of the battle unfolds in measures of thirteen beats, dense and rocky, galloping toward the undesired place. Despite everything, history will be remembered for the pride of the losers, whose souls will remain visible in the universe of the stars through the ages.
»Mare Nostrum« is the debut album of Meltem, a psychedelic doom trio from Barcelona.
It is an invitation to explore distant and close worlds and realities at the same time. This work focuses on the Mediterranean Sea, an endless source of inspiration. An immutable witness to the highest manifestations of beauty, and at the same time the most ruthless expression of human cruelty.
Four daring tracks, where beautiful Anatolian melodies intertwine with raw and powerful riffs that highlight human contradictions, mixed with touches of oriental percussion with the collaboration of the exceptional percussionist Omar Kattan.
