Barcelona, Spain based stoner metal band Catatumbo stream their self-titled debut EP, which just dropped on May 1st, 2023 via Rooibos Records.

Barcelona, 2017: Alex sets out to buy a used Fuzz pedal and winds up jamming with Stefano, the seller. After writing a few tunes heavily influenced by Kyuss, The Sword, Pantera and Lamb Of God, they recruit Jesús behind the drums.

After a long, lockdown-fueled hiatus, the three friends resume jamming and incorporate René as their singer and Frank as their bassist. The line-up was finally complete.

The thunderous sound of the band and the stage presence of 6,4 ft. tall singer pounded in the faces of hundreds of fans in and around Barcelona for most of 2022.

By the end of the year, the need to record some of their live material in an EP format had become evident…

Catatumbo was formed in 2017 at Barcelona, Catalonia by Alex Doménech (Guitars), Stefano Cibien (Guitars) and Jesus Pereira (Drums). In 2022 after some lineup changes René Caballero (Vocals) and Nil Gómez (Bass) joined the band and the lineup was completed.
