Le Mans, France based instrumental post-rock trio Stone From The Sky has unveiled new single »The Weight Of A Thousand Thoughts« taken from their upcoming album, »Bakeneko«, set to release this Friday, May 30th, 2025 via Argonauta Records.

The final stretch is near for Stone From The Sky and their new album »Bakeneko«, that will drop on Friday, May 30th. Their fourth album, but their first at Argonauta Records (The Lumberjack Feedback, Witchorious, etc.), marks a clear departure from the stoner tag that had become a bit too sticky to the trio from Le Mans. On the menu, a major post metal/post rock shift, combining heaviness, aggression, and beautiful atmospheric flights, with an inseparable psychedelic vibe. Nine days before this long-awaited release, SFTS unveils their latest single, »The Weight Of A Thousand Thoughts«. It’s highly recommended for fans of Pelican, Neurosis, Isis, and My Sleeping Karma, among others!

»Bakeneko« couldn’t have hoped for a better opening than »The Weight Of A Thousand Thoughts«. The explosion of heaviness takes us by surprise after the first whispers of its main theme, with the firm intention of making our necks bend. But a calm phase tries to regain some ground, sometimes jostled by its heavy opponent, but never ceasing to captivate its audience with its vibe, sometimes psychedelic, sometimes tribal. But SFTS manages its build-ups like no one else until an intense and gripping climax.

The trio tells us a little more about its compositional intention:

“»The Weight Of A Thousand Thoughts« is, in our opinion, the track that pushes the contrasts the furthest, alternating our most massive sonic charges with our most static ambiences. This facet puts the guitars more front and center, enveloped in synthetic ambiences and incantatory rumbles, where emotions take the form of shifting landscapes. We wanted to combine tectonic heaviness with gaunt silences, to sculpt a space where emptiness resonates as much as saturation!”
