US heavy metal supergroup Sun Dont Shine (feat. members of Type O Negative, Crowbar, Down and Silvertomb) has released a music video for the latest single »Power To Live« taken from their debut album, »From Birth To Death«, due out on April 1st, 2026 via Corpse Paint Records.

Sun Dont Shine (formerly known as Eye Am), the band featuring Kirk Windstein (Crowbar, Down, Kingdom Of Sorrow) alongside former Type O Negative members Kenny Hickey and Johnny Kelly, plus Todd Strange (Crowbar, Down), will release its debut full-length album, »From Birth To Death«, on April 1 via Corpse Paint Records. The supergroup also has shared its latest single, »Power To Live«, with a music video set to be released on February 23.
Written by guitarist/vocalist Kenny Hickey and guitarist Kirk Windstein, »Power To Live« was recorded at OCD Studios in Summer 2025. The track was produced by Duane Simoneaux, co-produced by Vinnie LaBella (ex-Exhorder), and executive produced by Andrew Spaulding.
»Power To Live« grew out of a conversation around the single’s cover art, when Hickey remarked how shameful it is that, as human beings, we haven’t evolved beyond killing one another. That observation became the song’s core: an acknowledgment of history’s repeated failures, paired with a refusal to surrender to them.

“The track is a challenge to the times we’re living in,” the band said, “an insistence on survival and consciousness in the face of cycles that refuse to break.”
Sun Dont Shine collaborated with visual artist Nadiya Vizier (Crowbar/Sailor Bob tattoo) on the cover artwork for »Power To Live«. To mark the release, the band and artist are unveiling a limited art collaboration, available exclusively alongside the single. The collection includes 100 hand-signed posters autographed by Vizier, a custom sticker sheet, and 10 ultra-limited trucker caps featuring original artwork from the release. Each piece was created specifically for »Power To Live«, blending the song’s urgency and message with Vizier’s visual language. All items are extremely limited and tied directly to the »Power To Live« streaming release – once they’re gone, they’re gone.
Musically, »Power To Live« channels the band’s blend of heaviness and atmosphere – earth-shaking riffs, evocative melodies and a sense of dynamic push and pull. With Windstein’s crushing guitar tone locked against Hickey’s haunting hooks, Kelly’s precise yet unrestrained drumming, and Strange’s thunderous low end, the song carves out a landscape that’s as brooding as it is anthemic. It’s a sound that feels lived-in and battle-tested: the result of four lifers who know how to let a song breathe, build, and ultimately explode.
The »Power To Live« video, directed by Mike Holderbeast, extends the song’s core themes into unsettling imagery. Rather than offering a literal narrative, the clip juxtaposes performance and atmosphere to underscore the tension between destruction and the will to endure. The visual approach mirrors Sun Dont Shine’s larger ethos: capturing raw emotion in the moment instead of sanding it down into something neat and disposable.
