Sun Empress to unleash debut sludge metal odyssey »Still Life« on December 5th!

Gothenburg, Sweden – Prepare to descend into the crushing, psychedelic depths of Sun Empress, the new heavy duo from Sweden, as they announce their debut release »Still Life«, set to drop on December 5th, 2025. Fans of Yob, Kongh, and The Ocean will find themselves drawn into a sonic world of slow-burning riffs, explosive crescendos, and haunting melodies.

Formed in 2023, Sun Empress unites Henrik Wikner (Vargsol, Caterpillar Ghost, The Distance Between Us) and Christian Fransson (Mon) in a remote musical collaboration born from their shared passion for weighty, immersive heavy music. What began as a series of riffs and ideas quickly evolved into a fully realized debut album, showcasing the duo’s mastery of sludge metal with a unique psychedelic and progressive edge.
