Skåne, Sweden based epic doom metal act Void Moon return with their new EP, entitled »The Runes That Bind«, which will be released on August 28th, 2026 via Obelisk Polaris Productions. This is also the first Void Moon’s recording with new guitarist Fredrik Theander.

Swedish epic doom metal band Void Moon is back with »The Runes That Bind«, a new three-track EP to be released on August 28th, 2026 through Obelisk Polaris Productions.

Formed in southern Sweden by bassist Peter Svensson, Void Moon have been part of the epic doom metal underground for more than a decade, with releases such as »On The Blackest Of Nights«, »Deathwatch«, »The Autumn Throne«, »Waste Of Mind« and »Dreams Inside The Sun«. In 2025, the band returned to the stage at Doom Over Vienna and welcomed guitarist Fredrik Theander as a full-time member.

»The Runes That Bind« looks at heritage, memory and humanity’s connection to the cosmos. The opening track, »Orphans Of The Sky«, takes inspiration from the classic science fiction novel of the same name, telling of a lost generation ship drifting through space. The title track turns towards ancestry and tradition, while »Constellation« closes the EP with reflections on the stars, history and those who came before us.

The EP also features guest piano on »Constellation« by Joakim Strandberg Nilsson of Dark Tranquillity.
