There is no stopping the mighty Sorcerer and in the autumn of 2023 the band will release their highly anticipated fourth album entitled »Reign Of The Reaper«. Again not content with repeating themselves the album features some of the darkest, heaviest and most aggressive material the band has ever recorded, and at the same time some of the most lyrical and beautiful. The band holed up in their home studios and wrote music all through 2022 and then once again headed to SolnaSound Recording in Stockholm, the studio owned, run and operated by Simon Johansson (Wolf, Soilwork) with Mike Wead (King Diamond). Sorcerer are also known for their long title tracks with catchy and highly memorable choruses, and the second single »Reign Of The Reaper« is no exception. Taking the listener through the realms of death and dread, this doom-laden epic with it’s many twists and turns will crush souls, leaving metal fans begging for more darkness and despair.

Sorcerer have recently parted ways with their long-time drummer Ricky Evensand.

The band stated: “It is with a heavy heart we have to announce that Sorcerer and drummer Ricky Evensand have parted ways. As one of the original members of the band his powerful and highly technical drumming style and high-energy live performances played a big part in shaping the sound of Sorcerer and he will be sorely missed. He now wants to dedicate his time to other musical projects so we wish Ricky the absolute best in his future endeavours and he will forever be part of the Sorcerer family. We love you brother, salute!!”

Sorcerer already announced his replacement: “Sorcerer is pleased to welcome our friend Stefan Norgren as the new drummer of the band. He’s a very experienced and rock solid metal drummer, and we feel great about having him join our ranks. Stefan also occupies the throne in Seventh Wonder and Faceshift, two great bands that we encourage you to check out. Welcome buddy!”

Stefan says: “When the guys reached out and asked me to step in as Sorcerer’s drummer, it was a no brainer! I’m friends with the guys and already a huge fan of the band, and feel super stoked about performing and creating music with these awesome musicians. Also, as a drummer, Sorcerer’s music is a new and much anticipated outlet for me. I already get to do my prog and heavy metal stuff in other bands, but Sorcerer’s brand of groovier, slower beats is a big part of where I come from musically and I greatly look forward to it!”

Sorcerer is:
Anders Engberg – Vocals
Kristian Niemann – Guitar
Peter Hallgren – Guitar
Justin Biggs – Bass
Stefan Norgren – Drums
