Swedish psych rockers MaidaVale unveil new single »Perplexity« ahead of their European tour this February and March!

Swedish psych rockers MaidaVale have unveiled new single »Perplexity« ahead of their European tour kicking off later this month.
The four musicians have expanded their initial preference for 60s and 70s psychedelic rock. Gradually, diverse musical influences such as neo-psychedelia, krautrock, post-punk, funkadelia, and North African blues were added.

The Swedish band MaidaVale, whom we had the pleasure of working with on their second album »Madness Is Too Pure«, will be embarking on an extensive European tour from February to April to present their third album »Sun Dog«, which was released in Sweden in May 2024.
On February 7th, a previously unreleased new single »Perplexity« will be released.
Formed in Fårösund on the Swedish Baltic Sea island of Gotland in 2012, they shared a love for 60s and 70s psychedelic rock and laid the foundation for the band. Little by little, other influences were added and the four of them incorporated neo-psychedelia and krautrock, post-punk, funkadelia and North African blues.

With their acclaimed debut »Tales Of The Wicked West« (2016) they quickly conquered mainland Europe. Just two years later, their second album »Madness Is Too Pure« came out and they cemented their reputation in the European psych-rock scene with a bold and experimental look at the genre, which earned them a nomination for the Swedish music award “P3 Guld” among other things. in the rock category alongside acts like Graveyard.
On their third album »Sun Dog« they worked with producer Kalle Gustafsson Jerneholm (The Soundtrack Of Our Lives) and György Barocsai. They paint with a wider range of colors and immerse themselves more than ever in their own world of neo-psychedelia. Fittingly, the guests on the current album are Tinariwens Said Ag Ayad and John Agnello, who is known for his work with Kurt Vile and The Black Angels.
The band has played notable festivals, including the Manchester Psych Fest, Burg Herzberg Festival, Rockpalast, Barcelona Psych Fest, Sweden Rock Festival, Bordeaux Psych Fest, and Desertfest in Berlin.
