Swedish stoner/doom metal outfit Smed presents their self-titled debut album, which was just released this Friday, February 18th, 2022 via Transubstans Records.

Smed was formed 2019 in Karlshamn, Sweden. With the idea of making downtuned heavy music. With inspiration from 70s rock and Stoner/Doom.

Niklas has formed most of the riffs. Then the band has glued the music and sounds togheter. And some lyrical inspiration from outer space and occultism.

The members has been in a bunch of other bands such as The Graviators, Nymf, Learn By Dying, Demonicus, Trollfnask, Void Commander and Sattmansitter.

Their debut album »Smed« features guest guitar solos from Janne Stark (Overdrive, Merryweather Stark) on »Heavy Metal: The Black And Silver« and Bob Balch (Fu Manchu, Big Scenic Nowhere) on »Queen Of The Goats«.

Blue Öyster Cult cover »Heavy Metal: The Black And Silver« is also included on »The Dark Side Of The Cult – A Tribute To Blue Öyster Cult« (Black Widow Records, 2021).
