Gothenburg, Sweden based stoner/doom rockers Altareth share a music video for the song »Passage« from their latest studio album, »Passage – The Welfare Sessions«, out on November 16th, 2024.

Altareth is a band from the Swedish west coast based in Gothenburg. The four pillars of the Altareth sound are clean vocals, fuzzy guitars, pounding drums and fat electric bass guitar. The basic idea and musical foundation of Altareth is the meeting of heavy riffs and memorable melodies. The band is influenced by first and second wave doom, psych and stoner bands but also a lot of Swedish and Scandinavian rock and metal bands.

Says the band: “Last summer the five members of what was then known as one of the most promising doom rock outfits since God knows when, gathered their instruments of war and head off to Welfare Studios. They loaded in the gear, executed their craft and out came the most glorious riffs one can imagine. The tracks were laid down through pure live takes. No cheating and no extra anything (except maybe some keys…). Pure Altareth all the way. This is the way that Altareth sounded during their heydays. A well executed recording with well crafted songs. So tune in, turn it up and give it a spin!”
