Biel/Bienne, Switzerland based doom/sludge metal trio Kala Azar premiere their self-titled debut album, which was just released this Friday, January 5th, 2024.

Says the band: “300 records are now available on black 180g / 12″ vinyl. Get them either at our upcoming shows and hopefully soon from your favorite record dealer. Some stores and distros have already few. We’re on it!”

Kala Azar was formed mid 2020 in Biel/Bienne, Switzerland by members of the still existing bands Pig Sweat (hardcore punk), Fever Dreams (death metal) and the split up crust punk band Hässig.

But instead of speed driven melodies and sweat-soaked mosh-pits, in this long term project, the trio takes their energy from the depths. Low tuned, throaty guitars, are forged with heavy, slow drums, to create a doom/sludge metal colossus with a modern alloy.

In October 2022, after several successful shows in and around Switzerland, the digital EP; »Dethroned Forever«, which was recorded within the studio session for the upcoming debut LP, was released on several platforms.

The self-titled LP is released the 5th January 2024 on 12″ vinyl, and several streaming platforms, followed by a bunch of shows & a tour.
