Shot like a grainy black-and-white horror film, the video blends eerie forest imagery, tape-hiss drones, and a hypnotic drum-machine groove into a shadowy psych-kraut experience. The story follows a haunted driver pursued by a mysterious bat-like creature – the mindsucker – through an abandoned landscape that feels suspended between cinema and dream.
After three albums and years of touring across Europe, the Basel-based quartet returns with a new sonic direction. While their 2022 record »Freedomspacecake« leaned toward sunny surf-psych textures, the upcoming album »Mindsuckers« dives into darker, more ominous territory without losing the band’s signature kraut-infused psychedelic sound.
With »Acid River«, a first, electrifying glimpse into the sonic universe of their upcoming album, the band dives deep into a hypnotic, swirling soundscape – driven by pulsating percussion, distorted guitars, and an overwhelming sense of cinematic tension. The single captures the band’s trademark blend of raw energy, psychedelia, and dystopian storytelling, evoking visions of disintegrating realities and dreamlike landscapes.
Where »Freedomspacecake« opened the door to their cosmic, fuzz-driven universe, »Mindsuckers« steps fully into a darker, dystopian realm.
