Swiss tribal stoner rock band Gora Mama releases their new single »Ötzi«; new album coming in October 2024!

Vevey, Switzerland based tribal stoner rock band Gora Mama presents their new single »Ötzi«, which was just released today, March 20th, 2024.

Squired by heady melodies featuring tribal drum rhythms, »Ötzi« joins the great spring gathering to announce the changes he envisioned.

Swiss-based band Gora Mama is set to release »Ötzi«, a catchy rock song about the life of the Iceman. Inspired by findings on the famous mummy, this track is a poetic interpretation of the life he may have had and promises to shake the head of the stoner tribe. »Ötzi« is the last song Gora Mama wrote after three days of composition isolated in a small hamlet in the Alps and after countless guesses on his fate late at night.

Recorded and mixed by sound engineer Romain Equey, who has previously worked with renowned artists like Mark Kelly, and mastered by Loïc Gaillard, »Ötzi« marks the musical evolution of Gora Mama. It is the first release from the band’s new line-up, which promises a wider exploration of the stoner rock genre. An album is scheduled for release in October.

Graphic artist “Greg_zk”, who signs the cover, describes »Ötzi« as “a heart-warming invitation to join and walk along in rhythm with the tribe,” highlightning the communal and introspective experience that Gora Mama’s music proposes.

Gora Mama is a tribal stoner rock band inspired by the mysteries of nature, history and human tribes through the ages. Lyrics delve into the enigmatic links between humans and various beliefs, legends and rituals, pondering questions ranging from the fate of »Ötzi« to the transcendence of animals into gods.

Supported by wild rhythms, dissonant distorted melodies and a powerful voice, Gora Mama’s sound is complemented by throat singing and unique, mysterious instruments hidden throughout the tracks. An invitation to celebration and introspection around the fire of Gora Mama’s tribe.
