Gothenburg-based experimental rock project Synvilla will release their new single »Habitual Rites« on 7 October 2026 via Berlin’s Beans On Toast Records. The track is taken from their forthcoming EP, »Grindmother«, released on 30 October 2026.

»Habitual Rites« feeds on instinct. Driven by jagged rhythms, distorted textures and a relentless pulse, the track brings together psychedelic weight, post-punk tension and heavy riffs. Repetition becomes its guiding force, drawing the music into a state where intention gives way to something more primal.

Playful, unruly and sharp around the edges, the single moves with feral confidence. Its restless energy holds discipline and impulse in uneasy balance, each repeated phrase tightening the tension while threatening to break loose.

Based in Gothenburg, Synvilla is a multidisciplinary project in which music and video art inhabit a world that feels equally threatening and seductive. Rooted in heavy, experimental rock, their sound refuses predictable forms: riffs drag and smear, rhythms bend and structures warp. A mischievous, distorted voice emerges from the turbulence, carrying melodies that linger without ever becoming comfortable.

The visual element continues the music’s exploration of repetition and ritual. Projections and moving images unfold as bodily, charged fragments with an underlying sense of the occult. In live performance, sound and image continually displace one another, creating an intense, immersive experience.

With two albums already under their belt, Synvilla released their latest album, Feberfoster, on 28 February, celebrating its arrival with a sold-out release show at Skeppet GBG. Having shared stages with Hällas, Skraeckoedlan and MaidaVale, and appeared at Fuzztival, Muskelrock and Sonic Ritual, the project continues to carve out a vivid, cinematic presence within the Nordic underground.
