Atmospheric rock legends All India Radio cover Slowdive’s »Catch The Breeze«; out April 30th ahead of their upcoming album coming this September!

For three decades, Martin Kennedy has crafted blissful soundscapes with ambient rock titans All India Radio, releasing over 30 albums with features in CSI, One Tree Hill, MTV, and even covered by Devin Townsend after he fell in love with a song on holiday.

The next full length entry into the A.I.R. universe is slated for this September, and the band offer up a serene taste of what’s to come with lead single »Catch The Breeze«.

A cover of shoegaze legends Slowdive’s song from their 1991 debut album “Just For A Day”, Kennedy and crew take Slowdive’s dreamy tendencies even further into the aether, giving the track a Lynchian, Twin Peaks-esque twist with the help of guest vocalist Lisa Gibbs’ haunting, sublime tones.

In the band’s words:

“From the late 1980s to the early 90s, I lived and breathed UK shoegaze music,” says Kennedy. “My band at the time was starting to get serious, and I desperately wanted that sound, particularly Slowdive’s »Catch The Breeze«, which for me melded ambient music, which I also loved, so perfectly with the melodic fuzzed-out bliss of shoegaze. It didn’t work out that way with my band, and only recently I asked myself – should I recreate one of my all-time favourite shoegaze songs? Why the heck not!”
