Tenebra releases a music video for their cover of Jerusalem’s »Primitive Man«
Italian heavy stoner rock band Tenebra releases a music video for their brand new single »Primitive Man« taken from their latest EP, »What We Do Is Sacred«, out on November 12th, 2021 via New Heavy Sounds.
»Primitive Man« is the second single from Tenebra’s EP »What We Do Is Sacred«, released as part of New Heavy Sounds’ 10th anniversary EP series last year. The track is a cover of 70’s proto-metal outfit Jerusalem’s song, taken from their 1972 album of the same name.
Musically it exhibits Tenebra’s unique take on the 70’s hard rock sound, taking the original and morphing it, adding more depth and psychedelics and mashing the arrangement (with a flute solo no less) whilst still keeping those riffs intact. Add to that Silvia’s roaring, distinctive vocals and you have a superb re-invention of this lost classic.
The video is an anarchic collage of the band live and playful, with two large sections in which the real star is pro skateboarder Giorgio Zattoni: the original Primitive Man. Tenebra wanted him in the video because Giorgio’s skating conveys passion and strength exactly like the Jerusalem song.
Tenebra is:
Silvia – Vocals
Claudio – Bass
Mesca – Drums
Emilio – Guitar
