Fynn Grabke about the song: “»Why Mother Why« was inspired by a childhood day-dream of mine. I dreamed that my mother had just killed a man and I was really upset about it and demanded that if you want to be safe from her, you must hang her higher and bury her deeper…many years later we wrote this song about that day-dream.

At first I thought this should just be a very small song, almost just a poem with music, but our drummer Philipp heard my phone recording of it and said we have to make this a really big production. We were at the Black Stone Cherry studios in Kentucky at the time, so we asked those guys if maybe they have access to a gospel choir and sure as hell within the hour we had a full blown choir to record. We later added more voices to it by recording friends in Los Angeles and Hamilton, Canada to really blow up that gospel feel.

This song is currently our favourite song to play live. We can’t bring all those people with us, so we play the choir tracks, but with everybody singing along, every night almost feels like church…well, rock-church.”
