Tony Pinnisi (Göden, Winter) passed away at the age of 72

Tony Pinnisi (Göden, Winter) has passed away at the age of 72. The news of the American artist’s passing has been shared by his Winter bandmates with the following message:

“Tony Pinnisi, keyboardist for Winter and Göden, has left this mortal plane (R.I.P. August 23rd, 2024).

A close friend to Stephen Flam and John Alman, Tony was there at the very beginning. From a previous generation, he added his unique musical voice and vision to what was to going to be considered a legendary entry into the new doom-metal genre. »Into Darkness« separated Winter from those that followed, adding an eerie tone and starting a journey that would influence others, and 30 years later continue that same signature component, well-spoken as the “Prophet of Goden” on the »Beyond Darkness« and »Veil Of The Fallen« albums, as well as Winter’s »Live In Brooklyn« where Tony joined Stephen and John on stage at The Warsaw and played for his first and only live show with them.

There will never be another like Tony, and his legacy and essence will live on through these recordings.

We will miss you Tony!”
