Tunesian stoner/alternative rock outfit Shade dropped their debut EP »Under Distant Suns« + unreleased track »PreTension«

Tunis, Tunisia based stoner/alternative rock outfit Shade presents their debut EP, »Under Distant Suns«, which was released on February 14th, 2025.

The band also released previously unreleased track »PreTension« that didn’t make it to »Under Distant Suns« EP.

“We formed the band in 2005, and then we stopped. And now we’ve started again.”

Shade is a five-piece band from Tunis that delivers a raw, powerful sound by blending multiple genres of rock, including alternative, stoner, and metal. Known for their riff-driven compositions and intricate arrangements, Shade takes listeners on a journey through heavy, hypnotic soundscapes and explosive, dynamic shifts. The band creates a sonic experience that’s both familiar and fresh.

About »PreTension«: “»PreTension« is the first song that came out of the »Under Distant Suns« sessions. We went for a more lo-fi-ish vibe, doing the best we could to serve the song. But even if the themes fit the narrative that was established for Under Distant Suns, the vibe was way off and it wasn’t right for that particular project. »PreTension« ended up being left on the cutting room floor; and it forced us to engage with the writing process of the EP with a “let’s get to the point” approach. Nonetheless, we love PreTension, and we hope you’ll love it too.”
