Istanbul, Turkey based atmospheric sludge/post-metal trio Helak has released their new self-titled EP on February 3rd, 2023 via Opus Lazuli Records.

Helak is an Istanbul based sludge/experimental metal band formed by Moklich and Onur Başkurt in 2018. The band started as a duo and reached their current line up in mid-2019. Helak released their self-produced debut album »Inferno« on January 2019, the single »Cestodes« on November 2019, and their second album »Heritor« on April 2020. The band consists of Moklich on guitars, Onur Başkurt on drums and Onur Meriç on bass and vocals. Searching for a distinctive sound, Helak blends post, black and sludge metal with atmospheric elements.
