London based rock band The Fierce & The Dead released their fifth studio album, »Regional Theatre«, on September 11, 2026 via their own label Spencer Park Music.

Following the critical acclaim of 2023’s »News From The Invisible World«, »Regional Theatre« sees the band pushing further into alternative and noise rock territory while retaining the experimental spirit that has defined their career. The album marks the band’s second full-length release featuring lead vocals from bassist and producer Kevin Feazey, continuing an evolution that has transformed The Fierce & The Dead from cult instrumental favourites into one of the UK’s most distinctive underground rock bands. This is the first record to feature keyboard player, percussionist and backing vocalist Tom Hunt (also of Orange Clocks).

»Regional Theatre« lyrically the album is mostly about communication, and how in a world where we have more access then ever we still struggle. Musically, the album draws on influences as diverse as post-rock, alternative metal, shoegaze, psychedelic rock, extreme metal, pop and experimental music, combining heavy riffs, ambitious arrangements, analogue electronics and memorable vocal hooks.

Album art is by Mark Buckingham, known for his work at DC and Marvel Comics and his best selling graphic novel Fables.

Influences include Faith No More, Nirvana, Slowdive, Flaming Lips, Super Furry Animals, Queens Of The Stone Age, Mastodon, LCD Soundsystem, Sonic Youth, The Smashing Pumpkins, At The Drive-In and Helmet with The Fierce & The Dead’s trademark progressive and experimental sensibilities and their love of King Crimson, Deafheaven, Black Flag and Voivod.

Speaking about the album, vocalist and bassist Kevin Feazey said:

“We really pushed ourselves in terms of the songwriting on this album, trying to be more focused. Many of the tracks are dealing with communication on a personal and societal level. How in a world where we are more connected than ever, there seem to be more barriers than ever. It was important that the music and the lyrics worked together to get these ideas across.”

Matt Stevens said “It’s important to keep moving sonically and trying new things, that’s what makes us excited and hopefully you can hear that on the record.”

Formed in London 16 years ago, The Fierce & The Dead have built a devoted international following through touring across the UK, Europe and the USA, appearances at Freak Valley, Ramblin Man and ArcTangent alongside a series of critically acclaimed independent releases.

Their albums have received Album of the Year list recognition from both Prog and Classic Rock magazines, while the band has developed a reputation for emotionally charged live performances and a fiercely independent approach to music-making.

»Regional Theatre« will be available on limited edition coloured vinyl, CD, digital download and special collector’s editions featuring exclusive bonus material, artwork by acclaimed comic artist Mark Buckingham, and a specially written companion play script.

The band will support the release with a series of UK album launch shows throughout autumn 2026.
