Gnasch is an independent sludge/doom metal band formed in 2022 in Bristol, UK. Locally renowned for pioneering what they describe as “Bristol sewer sludge”, the band is characterized by a greasy, heavily distorted sound, down-tuned mammoth riffs, and an intensely gloomy, misanthropic atmosphere.

The band functions as a tightly-knit live unit while rotating diverse vocal collaborations for their studio tracks: Will (bass), Mark (guitar/bass), Russ (drums), Sam (guitar), and Lewis (guitar).

Since emerging from the Bristol heavy music scene, Gnasch has carved out a reputation for “drowning legendary bills in sheer misery”. Their music fuses traditional slow-tempo doom metal with aggressive, feedback-laden sludge and elements of noise rock.

A core component of their studio philosophy is the use of guest vocalists from across the extreme metal spectrum to give each track a distinct identity. They have collaborated with notable underground figures, including Charlie Fell (Lord Mantis), Charlie Davis (Elephant Tree), and Erik Sahlström (General Surgery).
