Urne release new single and music video »Becoming The Ocean«; new album »A Feast On Sorrow« out on August 11th via Candlelight Records!

London, UK based stoner/sludge/metalcore act Urne has released the first single and music video »Becoming The Ocean« taken from their new album, »A Feast On Sorrow«, due out on August 11th, 2023 via Candlelight Records.

»Becoming The Ocean« is available now on all streaming platforms!

Says the band: “We are extremely proud to announce that our second album »A Feast On Sorrow« will be released on August 11th via Candlelight Records. The first single »Becoming The Ocean« and music video is out now!

»A Feast On Sorrow« is a stark rumination on the grim inevitabilities of disease, dementia and deterioration in old age, felt intimately by our frontman, Joe Nally.”

“We had many ups and downs throughout this process, but the end result is something the three of us are extremely proud of. Having the honour to travel to New York to work alongside Joe Duplantier and Johann Meyer on this record is something we didn’t think would be possible and, on top of that, to have Ted Jensen master this record, has been an experience we once dreamed of.

This whole album is extremely personal for me. It’s made me grow as a person and has also helped me understand the grieving process better than before. This isn’t a joyful or uplifting record, it’s very raw and real, and when the opportunity to work with Joe came to be, we all knew he was the perfect person to capture the message of this record.” Joe Nally adds.

There is no single way that London trio Urne describe their sound, it all comes back to 1 thing: heavy. Shades of Metallica, Mastodon, Death & Alice In Chains in there, hopping between sludge, tech-metal, doom, hardcore & anything else with a weighty heart.

Urne are a band that sound simultaneously both classic and modern, delivered with equal amounts of brains and fists and on their debut full-length, »Serpent & Spirit«. Recorded and mixed by Chris Fielding (Conan, Electric Wizard, Winterfylleth) and mastered by Jens Bogren (Opeth, Sepultura, At the Gates) they are proving themselves as one of the finest new bands in the British metal underground.
