Boardsliding their way out of the murky depths of the Portland heavy scene, Ash Eater arrive on their wheeled steeds with crushed beer in one hand and a flaming guitar promising nothing but sweet riffs in the other.
The trio of skaters, fronted by the bassist for fellow PDX acts LáGoon and Oopsy Dazey, deal in a ferocious mix of doom metal, thrash, and grubby psychedelia that congeals into a riotous sound as fit for a skate session as it is for a smoke-fogged mosh.
Featured in Thrasher Magazine and infamous for starting some rowdy pit action in the bowl at Tactics’ Northwest Open skating fest, Ash Eater are climbing the rock ‘n roll mountain, and are set to plant their flag with their second LP »Breathe The Smoke« due out March 15.

About the album:
Following up on their 2020 debut LP »Darkness Rising«, Ash Eater reach new depths of their signature fusion of thrash and doom on »Breathe The Smoke«. From the blistering pace and furious onslaught of »The Siren’s Call« and »Any Port In A Storm« to the epic, thoroughly doomed »Ritual«, the Portland skate ‘n rollers have crafted a grimy, razed-earth heavy metal opus that takes no prisoners.
Listeners’ heads may still be spinning after clawing their way through the madness of the first three singles, but darker, filthier treasures lie in wait. The eight-minute epic »Grab The Strands//Take The Light\\Breathe The Smoke« is a three-part juggernaut. After careening through breakneck thrash, the track dives into an criminally groovy middle passage. The trance is eventually broken as Ash Eater stretch their pitch-black wings and soar away on an expansive solo entrenched in doom and psychedelia.
Stepping through the foggy haze, the swan song of »The Warrior’s Craze« then appears, drawing the listener in slowly but surely. But while slogging through the mire, Ash Eater have but one end goal in mind: to bash your brains in, and their berserker rage rears its head to rampage through the album’s final minutes.
Total destruction turns out to be a killer party, and Ash Eater just rolled up to throw down.
