Gainesville, FL extreme metal architect Myk Colby (Wharflurch, Plasmodulated, Hot Graves) emerges from the void with new death doom entity, Liminal Erosion. The project’s first single, »Spectral Thrum (Echoing Endlessly)«, is streaming now, heralding the arrival of the monumental debut album »In The Time Vulture’s Talons«, set for release September 26th via Iron Fortress Records on digital, CD, and cassette tape formats.

Conceived and executed entirely by Colby, Liminal Erosion draws upon his extensive experience in the extreme metal underground to forge a new expression of cataclysmic death doom.

“This project started accidentally, although I’ve always had a love for funeral and death doom,” Colby explains. “The vision evolved into something larger in scope, something more profound… the sound of Death Doom but more kaleidoscopic, with lyrics to match.”

“Mostly, I intended to create something in this genre which satisfies all my desires of the sound, which previously hadn’t been properly fulfilled by other progenitors to my satisfaction. And thus we have Liminal Erosion.”

Peering into abstract realms of perception, Colby crafted lyrics free from first- or third-person narrative, their concepts carried on waves of crushing riffs and sorrowful melodies. These harrowing visions are projected through shimmering textures and glacial tempos, coalescing into death doomgaze that pushes beyond the already ambiguous parameters of the genre.

Recorded, performed, mixed, and mastered by Colby, with artwork and logo by GrusomeGraphx and photography by Ryan Bonner / Bringmecreatures, »In The Time Vulture’s Talons« stands as a fully realized manifestation of his uncompromising creative vision.
