Chicago, Illinois based doom metal veterans Witchcross featuring vocalist Count William Jannusch (ex-Ravensthorn, ex-ShadowLord) have unveiled an unreleased single version of »The Veil« from their latest album, »Cauldron In Satan’s Shadow«, out on September 2nd, 2018 via Mighty Monster Federation Records / Battle Cry Records.

Says the band: “»The Veil«, an unreleased single from our last album »Cauldron In Satan’s Shadow« from 2018.

We are currently writing and recording our newest Witchcross album, due out in Spring 2022. The new album is going to be very heavy and doomy.”

Witchcross is a Chicago Heights based 70’s style doom metal band, making music since 1992. Currently the band is writing and preparing to record the 5th album for 2022 release.

The singer Count William Jannusch has sung lead vocals on four Witchcross albums (between 1992-2018), three Ravensthorn albums (between 2002-2012), and two Shadowlord albums (between 1998-2000), not to mention the original Nocturnal Doom album from 1991.

The doom metal and progressive power metal that has come from Witchcross and Count William and his band members from each group he has been involved in has been legendary in Europe and abroad. Witchcross continues on to this day and keeps recording new music.

Count William Jannusch commented: “The 14 song, 67 minute masterpiece album of horror doom metal in the style of our influences, old Black Sabbath, Coven, King Diamond, and early Judas Priest and Iron Maiden, we hold the torch of old school metal and hath arrived to open Satan’s gates of Hell!!

All of original »Cauldron In Satan’s Shadow« songs are our heaviest and best produced material yet, with elements of classic ultra heavy doom, thrash metal, classic heavy 70’s blues rock, and killer power metal, all fused into a molten heavy horror metal occult lava, with high vocals and lyrics that spin tales of the darkest vampyric realms of Hell itself. You can also still get our recent »Crypt Of The Undead« 13 song CD album with a full color photo and lyric booket or remastered release of Ravensthorn’s »House Of The Damned« 2002 CD with bonus songs at our official eBay store.”

Jannusch on their Black Sabbath cover: “An absolutely killer cover version of Black Sabbath’s classic 1972 song from the »Vol. 4« album written by Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, Ozzy Osbourne, and Bill Ward and performed by Witchcross as a tribute to the masters that sounds so much like the original, it has to be heard to be believed. An ultimate tribute.”
