Since their first single »Desert Boogie« in 2023, Texas drum ‘n bass duo Sons Of Gulliver have been releasing a steady stream of tunes, honing their brand of beefy, booty-shaking stoner metal. It’s all led up to this, their debut self-titled EP, and the wait was worth it. Across six tracks of sludgy, earth-shaking bass guitar and in the pocket drumming, Justin Potter and Dolphin Riot explode forth with a ferocious exuberance and knack for gigantic grooves.

Sons Of Gulliver’s potent combo of pulverizing tone and swinging rhythms recalls The Midnight Ghost Train and Clutch at its heaviest, and Potter’s earthy growls add a primal edge that hammers it all home. This boogie van has longhorns on its grill and Mad Max at the wheel.

“Sons Of Gulliver is a stoner/groove metal band from Dallas, Texas. Born out of necessity from the pandemic of 2020, SoG delivers its own version of fast paced metal, growling vocals, thundering drums and nasty, distorted bass. Sons Of Gulliver hails its influences from artists such as Motörhead, Kyuss, Metallica and Black Sabbath.

This band is definitely something unique for both of us. It captures our imagination and forces us to think outside the box and challenges us to be greater. Everything about this band is a learning experience for us and we’re super excited to be treading this uncharted territory in rock. This EP is a culmination of a lot of hard work and ultimate creative freedom.

Soon after its release, we’ll be hitting the road to support the EP. Expect to see us ripping up stages in major and minor cities in and around Texas. The stage is our home, and the world is our back yard. The sky’s the limit.”
