Philadelphia heavy rock quartet revisits the »Lores« recording sessions while looking ahead to new music in 2027.

Philadelphia-based heavy rock band New Dawn Fades has released »Electric Midnight«, a previously unreleased track recorded during the sessions for their debut full-length album, »Lores«, as part of the »Be Here« vinyl compilation from Tektura Records.

Originally recorded alongside the material that would become »Lores«, »Electric Midnight« was ultimately left off the album due to time constraints. Rather than leave the song unheard, the band found a fitting home for it on »Be Here«, a collaborative DIY project bringing together twelve bands from Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

More than a traditional compilation, »Be Here« celebrates the independent music community. Limited to 300 copies, each vinyl record features unique coloring and individually assembled packaging made from repurposed materials. The project embraces a simple message: BE HERE. FOR EACH OTHER.

In the band’s own words:

“We recorded »Electric Midnight« during the »Lores« sessions and always felt it deserved to be heard. When the opportunity came along to contribute to something like »Be Here«, it just made sense. There’s something special about a bunch of bands coming together to create something by hand, not for profit, but simply to support one another. We’re genuinely grateful to be part of it.” — George Chamberlin, New Dawn Fades

Released independently in March 2026, »Lores« reached #7 on the Doom Charts and earned praise from underground rock and metal publications, including The Obelisk, MetalTalk, Dirty Rock Magazine, and Outlaws of the Sun. The band spent much of 2026 performing alongside acts including The Obsessed, Heavy Temple, Howling Giant, Kal-El, Stinking Lizaveta, and Faerie Ring, while also making appearances at Maryland’s Knights Of Doom Festival and Seismic Summer IV.

Looking ahead, New Dawn Fades will contribute four brand-new songs to Ripple Music’s »Turned To Stone Vol. 12«, a split 12-inch alongside Flint, Michigan’s stoner doom rollers Cleen, scheduled for release in spring 2027. The band is also stepping away from live performances during November and December to focus on writing material for its next release with plans to begin recording in early 2027.

»Electric Midnight« is available now to stream and download on New Dawn Fades’ Bandcamp, with the digital track offered on a name-your-price basis. Limited-edition copies of the »Be Here« 12-inch vinyl compilation are also available directly from the band for only $10. The single is expected to arrive on major streaming platforms within the next few weeks.
