US melancholic doom/sludge trio Night Mother share a remastered version of their track »The Void«

Peoria, Illinois based melancholic doom/sludge trio Night Mother share a remastered version of their track »The Void«.

The track is originally featured on the band’s debut album »Sacrament«, released in 2020.

Recorded by Andrew Fitzanko.
Mixed & mastered by Derek “Doom Daddy” Mattin.

The band commented: “To all you initiates out there, we wanted to say thank you from the greatest depths of our hearts for making this year an incredible one. We not only brought on our third member Seth Kehres, but we were able to play some amazing shows with some of our good friends and music heroes.

We were also able to complete tracking on our next release and send it off to the incredible Derek Mattin for mix and master. And let me tell you this project sounds massive. We also were able to get this thing pressed on vinyl and some sweet variants that we cannot wait to show you all. Hopefully more on this release soon. All I can say now is that we plan on announcing the album sometime around March and possibly some tour dates along with that.

But we are starting this year off with a fury of a thousand suns. We had also redone most of one of our older tracks »The Void« and will be releasing January 1, 2023, and hopefully another announcement with that track to follow shortly after.

Again we can’t thank you all enough for the support. Especially those that has supported us through our merch store, this album has been an expensive one to make but we are incredibly happy with the results and cannot wait to unleash it all upon you. If you feel so inclined, pick up some of our new shirt designs via our Bandcamp. Here’s to 2023 being a big year for Slow, Heavy Doom.”

Night Mother emerged from the darkness in 2016, Originally as a doom duo featuring Andrew Fitzanko on guitars and vocals, and Joseph Vassallo on drums and vocals. they relentlessly honed their craft in the depths of Peoria’s infamous bat cave, where many of the best music to come out of this area once called home.

After being bound to their dark sanctuary they finally made their presence known around the central Illinois area by opening for acts such as Weedeater, Today Is The Day, Toke and Telekinetic Yeti to name a few.

In the midst of chaos, they released their self recorded and produced debut album »Sacrament« in april 2020. This release was a nod to their love of fantasy, with a focus on what dwelled in the shadows of those realms, and using those demons to confront the darkness in our own lives, and meet it head on.

Night Mother began working on their second work in fall 2021, and soon realized their aspirations were leggier than they were. So enters Seth Kehres, bringing extra ambience via guitar and synth, as well as a third vocal layer. This allowed Night Mother to create the crushing wall of sound they were after, while also being able to create the perfect ambience and moods that suit those dark places they are all too familiar with.

Night Mother is currently working hard on their sophomore release and is aiming for a spring/summer release with shows/tour to follow.

Night Mother is:
Andrew Fitzanko – Vocals/Guitar/Bass
Seth Kehres – Vocals/Guitar/Synth
Joseph Vassallo – Vocals/Drums
