Rochester, New York based one-man cosmic doom metal band Astral Moon has just released third full-length album »Deus Ex Machina« on February 25th, 2025 via Chaos Caravan Records.

Astral Moon is a one-man doom metal band formed in Rochester, NY in 2020. Fronted by Aidan Amy, he has since released three full-length albums with Astral Moon: »Astral Necromancy« in 2021, »Into Solar Abyss« in 2023, and »Deus Ex Machina« in 2025.

Amy draws influence from bands like Electric Wizard, Black Sabbath, Sleep, Trouble, Type O Negative, The Doors, amongst many others to create a psychedelic, fuzzy atmosphere. As an experienced saxophonist, he began incorporating sax solos into his songs with »Beneath The Coffin Grain«, adding a unique sound to doom. Prior to Astral Moon, Amy had a history of experimental electronic projects between 2017 – 2020. Some of these include the 90’s rave-inspired Think and the gritty, industrial soundscape Morte Pandemic. He began making metal under the moniker of Sister Constriction in mid 2020, producing a demo EP with an industrial thrash sound. He later abandoned the project and began putting his passion for doom metal into motion with the creation of Astral Moon by the end of the year.
