“»Amorous Vice« is an ode to the calamities and joys of newfound romance. But this isn’t a love song. It’s a glimpse into the highs and lows of short-lived passion, intimacy, and sexual desire – feelings that simulate love and affection, but are often only an ephemeral infatuation or obsession when pursued irresponsibly.

This song conveys the perpetual tension and immaturity that underpins these impulses, and how this can often culminate in an amalgamation of misery, shame, or solitude.”

“Whereas »Amorous Vice« was about the prolonged nature of lust and passion at the beginning of any new romance, »Voyeur« contemplates the feelings that emerge after this initial phase – the feeling of being lost within oneself during a romance.

It’s a meditation on being so detached from the intimacy of romance that one feels like a voyeur in their own relationship dynamic with their partner – one sees the passion that once burned brightly, but can only enjoy it from afar any longer. The result is a constant state of yearning for what once was, instead of enjoying what currently exists and where it may go.”
