»Beauty For Ashes« is Light Creates Shadow’s first new music since the release of the 2022 full-length, »Ghosts Pass Through, Running From The Body« (Listen HERE).

Recorded at Isaac Brock’s (Modest Mouse) private studio and engineered by Brandon Eggleston, »Beauty For Ashes«sees the band exploring new sonic territory and delving deeper into conceptual meaning within their songs. The video was produced by guitarist/vocalist Marc Changnon and tackles theories regarding the psychic and metaphysical realms.

“This song was conceived through my experience of reliving past lives or quantum timelines to resolve karmic imbalances. I have found through my experiences that we are in part here to clear our karma through relationships and choices. Our timelines often scaffold on each other in cyclical patterns throughout our lives, teaching us lessons for growth at soul level. This video is symbolic of these stacked realities with specific motifs which relate to a tragic event for which I primarily reincarnated in order to re-process and heal.”

Light Creates Shadow is an organic and intuitive connection between guitarist/vocalist Marc Changnon, bassist Jered Johnson and drummer Adam Young. They combine progressive dynamics, uniquely delivered vocals, channeled lyrics, intricately woven passages that power through unorthodox arrangements, which culminate into epic walls of sound.

By utilizing conceptual frameworks to take the listener on an interior journey into energetic vibration, psyche, and a confrontation with their Shadow through unconscious processing, the experience urges the listener to transition to a state of awakened consciousness. This alchemical mixture offers the audience a blank canvas to paint their own rendering of interpretation upon and engages them in a new way.

“We believe music that explores the depths of what is possible between audience and artist, should be transparent about its intentions,” explains Changnon. “To provide context, I’m inferring that if a band are conduits for channeled meaning, healing and collective synchronicity, then that same transference is innately present in the connection with the listener.”

Fans of artists such as Tool, Pink Floyd, Elder, Alcest, Mastodon, The Smashing Pumpkins and Sunny Day Real Estate will resonate with Light Creates Shadow. “We are looking to create a following predicated on re-introducing heavy music to the depths of intellect, emotion, and soul, as an experiential necessity. I believe that art is at its peak when you are guided to be an active participant in the exchange.”
