Shadows Prevail is an alternative doom metal band based in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Sara Jackson is the vocalist & keyboardist for Shadows Prevail. She formerly fronted EvilLeaf under the alias “Sara Sage”. Sara holds music degrees from USC Columbia and The Boston Conservatory at Berklee. She enjoys a wide range of music including classical, pop, blues, industrial, and metal!

Lead guitarist Maurice Francis has a diverse musical background having played metal, rock, pop, jazz, and R&B. In addition to guitar, he has also experience with keys and bass. Maurice holds an Associate of Arts in Music and Arts from Southeastern Community College. Maurice was formerly the lead guitarist of EvilLeaf and Southern Betty.

Rhythm guitarist and Louisville, Kentucky native Aaron “Skip” Bethard previously played in Beaten To Death and Hacksaw Surgery. His favorite genres are death metal and thrash, and his biggest musical influences are Death, Kreator, Entombed, Vital Remains, Clutch, and King Diamond.

Matt is the bassist in Shadows Prevail, and formerly of EvilLeaf . He also plays guitar, drums, and ukulele, and has performed in an acoustic duo called Spreading Like Wildfire. His biggest influences are Electric Wizard, Pink Floyd and Deftones.

Shadows Prevail drummer Derrick has been playing the drums since the age of fourteen. Derrick joined the military at nineteen, and retired in 2010. Derrick previously drummed for Evilleaf . He also has a passion for mixing and recording, and has recorded a variety of musical artists in different genres from his home-studio, Hound Face Studio.
