US psychedelic stoner/doom/sludge solo project Serpent Worship return with new single and music video »Highland Cemetery«

Olympia, Washington based psychedelic stoner/doom/sludge solo project Serpent Worship return with new single and music video »Highland Cemetery«, released on October 31st, 2025. This is the first track from the upcoming 4 song album »So Mote It Be«.
Serpent Worship comments: “It’s Halloween. The new song and video for »Highland Cemetery« are now out. This is the first song off a new 4 song album coming out next month. RIP King Cobra JFS.”
After five years of silence, Serpent Worship returns from the shadows with »Highland Cemetery« – the first offering from the upcoming full-length »So Mote It Be«, arriving late November.
The track marks a powerful and emotional evolution for the project, inspired by the passing of King Cobra JFS – a polarizing internet cult figure whose eccentric presence left an indelible mark on countless followers. Traditionally an instrumental project, Serpent Worship breaks new ground by using vocal samples drawn directly from King Cobra’s vast archive of online videos, transforming him into the lead voice of this new era.
The result is a haunting, hypnotic, and heavy sonic journey – a spectral blend of doom, drone, and dark ambient textures that balance genuine emotion with eerie humor. King Cobra’s sampled voice weaves a surreal narrative through walls of distorted riffs and ritualistic atmosphere, creating something that feels both deeply personal and otherworldly.
The upcoming album, »So Mote It Be«, will feature four tracks totaling 34 minutes, each built around King Cobra’s posthumous “vocals.” The project serves as both tribute and transformation – a spectral séance between sound, spirit, and the strange corners of the internet.
Accompanying the release is the music video for »Highland Cemetery« – a perfectly haunted visual collaboration crafted by a close brother in art and spirit.
