Philadelphia, Pennsylvania based sludge/doom metal outfit Chimpgrinder has announced a collection of remixed and remastered early recordings, titled »Chimpgrinder«, set to release on October 2nd, 2026 via Animal Wing Records.

Animal Wing Records comments: “We are proud to announce our flagship release, Chimpgrinder dropping October 2nd. This self-titled album features a newly remixed and remastered early demo tracks that can’t be found anywhere else.

To mark the occasion, we are putting together a run of limited physical formats crafted specifically for collectors and physical media fans.”

Forged in the shadow of the Cold War space race, Chimpgrinder’s original sessions were recorded inside an concrete cell in the decommissioned animal wing of the Johnsville Naval Air Development Center centrifuge facility.

Originally tracked using unorthodox DIY recording methods, the upgraded mix and mastering elevates the band’s Sabbathian riffs and unyielding sludge grooves into the definitive Chimpgrinder experience.

An exclusive piece of band history – these raw early tracks complement the 2022 Remasters and are exclusive to this release.
