US southern/groove metal band Endgame promote their »Serpent Whispers« EP with a lyric video for »The Palace Is Burning«

Chicago’s southern/groove metal band Endgame has released a lyric video for »The Palace Is Burning« from their new EP, »Serpent Whispers«, out on October 2nd, 2022.

The Chicago band has been rocking since 2013. They are mixing 80s doom and heavy metal with some 90s influences, resulting in the style than can be called southern/doom or even groove. The founding member, guitarist Tom Theres, is a veteran of Illinois death metal scene.

Formed in 2014 by Tom Theres and Kevin Fitzmaurice, Endgame quickly took shape when Kevin brought on former band mates Mike Cullota and John Wanner. With the line up solidified the started writing music inspired by their love of classic hard rock and metal along with late 90s and early 2000s metal. With the addition of guitar player David Wayne, they had a full band that was writing and ready for live performances and the writing picked up speed with Endgame creating several songs in this time period.

In 2015 the band released their first EP »The Skies They Fall« and began promoting their EP with shows and podcast interviews. They continued in this lineup for another year before David had to leave the project for personal reasons. 2018 saw the addition of Greg Nolter on guitar which reinvigorated the line up and had them creating new music again.

Founding member Kevin Fitzmaurice left the project in 2018 and the band continued to rehearse and work on music. After several auditions and working with different vocalists Endgame met Dean Leo who came into the project ready to go. They remastered their debut EP with new vocals and recorded their first single »Hold It Back«. At that time the band had the opportunity to open for several national acts including Soulfly, U.D.O. and Saving Able.

2019 saw the band begin recording for their follow-up EP. 2020 happened and the world and the project grinded to a halt. After two years beset by triumph and personal tragedy the band completed and released their second EP »Serpent Whispers« in 2022. With the world opened up again and the band reinvigorated by the new EP they began playing shows with opening for Drowning pool and promoting their new work.
