US stoner/doom metal trio Temptress signs with Metal Assault Records for the release of their debut full-length album

Dallas, Texas based stoner/doom metal trio Temptress has signed with Metal Assault Records for the release of their debut full-length album, which will see the light in the spring of 2023.

Metal Assault Records is very excited to unveil its newest signing. Please join us in welcoming to the label roster, Dallas, Texas stoner rock/doom metal trio, Temptress.

Three seasoned musicians from Texas with different backgrounds, influences, and a long history of touring came together to form Temptress. Kelsey Wilson (guitar/vocals), Andi Cuba (drums/vocals), and Christian Wright (bass/vocals) got together mid-January of 2019 for an impromptu jam session. The outcome of the session inspired them to bring heavy vibes to the masses.

In five months, these experienced players went from a eureka moment at a session to writing and recording some potent heavy songs. They immediately began performing them live as Temptress, with the likes of Heavy Temple, Ecstatic Vision, Wo Fat, Black Tusk, Royal Thunder, The Well, Hippie Death Cult, Sasquatch, The Atomic Bitchwax, Valley Of The Sun and many others. On June 17th 2019, they presented their first three original songs in a debut EP release, »Temptress«. The EP is available via Bandcamp and most music outlets for digital download and streaming.

In 2020 and throughout the U.S. lockdown era, the band finished writing their first full-length album. During late 2021, Temptress had completed the recording, mixing and mastering of that album via Kent Stump (Wo Fat) at Crystal Clear Sounds in Dallas, TX. The trio is expecting the new Temptress album sometime in the spring of 2023 via their new family at Metal Assault Records.

Temptress says about signing with MAR: “We are excited to announce we’ve signed to Metal Assault Records. We have been busy writing new music and look forward to sharing our offerings with you as soon as we can. We will be touring incessantly in support of our upcoming release. Follow our journey and we look forward to seeing you all upon release.”

MAR owner Andrew Bansal says about signing Temptress onto the label roster: “I witnessed a Temptress performance firsthand in San Antonio, Texas in March 2022 when I was out on tour with Old Blood, and to me, it was extremely easy to get onboard with the aesthetic of the band’s musicianship and performance, and that feeling was mutual among the entire audience that night. From then on, we kept in touch with each other through zoom calls and whatnot over the following weeks, and here we are today, announcing this signing. I’m certainly glad our paths crossed, and I absolutely cannot wait for the world to see and hear what this band has to offer through their upcoming releases and shows. Get ready for the Ride of Your Life!”
