US supergroup Lie Heavy to release debut full-length album »Burn To The Moon« on July 14th; feat. former members of C.O.C., Confessor, Leadfoot & The Backsliders!

Raleigh, North Carolina based heavy rock supergroup Lie Heavy around vocalist Karl Agell (Corrosion Of Conformity, Blind, Leadfoot, Legion Of Doom) is gearing up to release their debut full-length album»Burn To The Moon« on July 14th, 2023.
Lie Heavy is a band bringing together notable N.C. rockers, Karl Agell, Jeff JD Dennis, TR Gwynne and Graham Fry. You may know them from some of their previous musical forays with Corrosion Of Conformity, The Backsliders, Leadfoot, Confessor, and Deltoid.
The Lie Heavy sound draws on the original hard ‘n groovy jams of Black Sabbath, Mountain, Thin Lizzy, Deep Purple and other hard rock and metal masters, mixed with some punk & hardcore influences, fused with their own massive experience to craft heavy riffs, rhythms and melodies.
So, it is not difficult to fathom why Lie Heavy sounds like a well-oiled, hard working band of 30 years rather than a newer entity. Their pedigree does not belie their power. Collectively, they have spent tens of thousands of hours in practice spaces, studios and on stages around the world, honing their vast skills, to find one another in this moment being among the top guardian practitioners at the gates of transcendently HEAVY music.
Lie Heavy first was first formed, pre-pandemic, when JD (drums) and Graham (guitar) got together at Argo Studios in Raleigh, NC to jam on some riffs Graham had been working on. That initial jam went so well that Graham reached out to T.R. (bass) and Karl (vox) about getting in on the action. The chemistry was immediate and the songs that would become their first album, »Burn To The Moon«, began to take shape.
Unfortunately, the onset of the global pandemic stopped all of the forward progress. Months passed with only conversations about the songs taking place. But, determined to see the project take flight, they started getting back together with masks and social distancing being paid serious attention to. Once back into motion, the riffs continued to flow and the first gig was booked opening for The Obsessed and The Skull in August 2021. But, tragedy would strike in the weeks leading up to the gig when Eric Wagner (Trouble, The Skull) would contract Covid. The Skull left the tour with Eric passing away shortly after. R.I.P.. The Obsessed continued on with the tour, and after some very serious thought and discussion, the decision was made to stick with the plan and open the show. The gig was a success and very well attended, but Covid would continue to be a roadblock to forward momentum. Eventually the pandemic would ease and more writing, practicing, and gigging began to happen.
Cut to today. Lie Heavy, »Burn To The Moon«, will be released on 7/14/23, with gigs being booked to support the album. The band continues to write and already has the beginnings of another collection of songs that will become their 2nd album.
