Portland, Oregon based Wax Donut Records have announced a tribute to The Jesus Lizard, a compilation called »Wax Donut Presents: Goat«, which will be released on March 15th, 2024. Featuring contributions from Neon Kittens, Night Goat, Wipes, The Kronk Men & more!

»Wax Donut Presents: Goat«, a compilation covering the seminal album by The Jesus Lizard, hits the streets on March 15th.

Goat brings together rising stars of punk, metal, and jazz from across the US and Europe to pay homage to one of the most important punk rock albums of the 20th century. The compilation features Neon Kittens and Dead Mammals from the UK, Kuhn Fu (featuring Michael Rene Sell) from France, Trigger Cut from Germany, and six rising stars from the US: Night Goat, Wipes, Bovine Nightmares, Kronk Men, Sinking Suns, and Prosthetic Bung.

The collected tracks were mastered by Steve Glaze at Tonefreq, and the cover art was handled by Dirk Spece (Kronk Men).

“The Jesus Lizard is indisputably one the most important punk rock bands in history,” states label head Morey Straus. “I hesitated on whether to take on something so ambitious, but I am very happy with the end result. This isn’t a replacement for Goat; this is a new way to enjoy the songs you know and love.”

»Wax Donut Presents: Goat« is now open for preorder exclusively through Wax Donut Records as a very limited edition Orange/Black Smoke 12” LP. Digital downloads will be available as singles from each of the individual bands and all songs are expected to appear on streaming services as well.
