The Swedish occult rock masters return with majestic, melodic masterpiece »Trivia Goddess«!
Six long years since their latest offering, Swedish occult rock frontrunners Year Of The Goat return with their fourth studio album, entitled »Trivia Goddess«. Once again, they take a break from their ongoing trilogy that started with the award-winning album »Angels Necropolis« (2012), followed by the much-acclaimed »Novis Orbis Terrarum Ordinis« (2019).
Inspired by the most harrowing moments in women’s history – vilified by churches and men of a petty god, devalued as the lesser sex throughout the history of the Abrahamic religions – in true satanic fashion, »Trivia Goddess« sees the Norrköping, Sweden-based dark rock collective oppose the structures of true evil in the world. Evoking a sinister, almost medieval spirit on tracks such as »Power Of Eve«, the band shows its epic, powerful and expeditious side, while »Alucarda« captivates listeners with an irresistibly catchy 70s hard rock vibe. On the album’s title track, the term ‘witch hunt’ takes on new meaning as Hekate, the mother of witches and the »Trivia Goddess«, is called upon. Over the course of eight years, 280 people were killed for the crime of witchcraft in Sweden in what was to be called “the great noise”, and now, Year Of The Goat provides its haunting soundtrack, dedicated to all those lost souls.

Mixed by Tom Dalgety at Psalm Studios, Wiltshire, UK, and mastered by Magnus Lindberg / Magnus Lindberg Productions, Year Of The Goat returns to the scene more majestic, epic and melodic, while also sounding more evil than ever. The wait for a new studio album was worth it, as »Trivia Goddess«, driven by the dark sounds of the 60s and 70s, sees the band doubling down on all expectations, showcasing their many facets with grandeur.
